RD Project Technologist
The RD Project Technologist reports to Director of R D, This exempt, salaried position requires a hands-on individual with the ability to develop innovative food products and adapt them for production line execution.

Responsibilities of RD Project Technologists
· Manage all long term and short tem R D projects to meet all company, quality sales financial, and customer objectives.
· Facilitate cross-functional team collaboration to prioritize and execute new product development from ideation and concept phases through marketing and commercialization
· Drive cost-saving opportunities. Monitor commercialization project costs and maintain budget for commercialization.
· Research and recommend solutions for technical concerns including formula/product structural changes, ingredient replacements, label or manufacturing.
· Support Manufacturing-Provide specifications, batch sheets, processing guidelines, and product evaluation. Test products to develop and ensure repeatability. Provide solutions to product issues that develop during production.
· Support Supply Chain by accurately procuring project materials and monitor that those items are ordered and delivered according to project time line. Modify and troubleshoot existing products, including evaluation of opportunities for lesser cost ingredients to increase sales.
· Support Quality Assurance-Provide methods and measurements to review and gradual components, and workmanship.
· Review Productivity-Research, analyze, and prioritize ingredients, processes, product design and equipment design projects
· Analyze and generate appropriate presentations, technical reports from process improvement projects, and data packages for production, quality, RD, and customer.
· Collaborate with Sales and Marketing and customers on projects and presentations. Assist in new product development. Coordinate plant testing and scale-up trials.
Requirements:
· Systems to develop and maintain nutritional specifications for products and support RD Department.
· A proven track record of taking concepts to commercialization
· Posses a Team Management Style with strong listening skills, the ability to communicate and interact with individuals at all levels. Good organizational skills, positive attitude, self-motivation and an energetic approach in a fast paced, changing environment.
Qualification:
· Requires a Bachelor’s Degree in food science or other related field such as Food Engineering with a strong mechanical interest and aptitude or background in equipment engineering with knowledge in food science and process improvement.
· Three plus years experience in frozen/refrigerated prepared foods.
