Zimmer was founded in 1927 as a trauma company, and remains a major player in this nearly $5 billion global market. The Zimmer Trauma Division offers a comprehensive line of trauma product devices used to stabilize damaged or broken bones and their surrounding tissues to support the body’s natural healing process. These include internal fixation devices such as plates, screws, nails, and wires and pins, as well as external fixation devices that stabilize fractures while applied externally to the limb. The Trauma Division is focused on addressing unmet clinical needs and continues to work on aligning Minimally Invasive Solutions technologies with Trauma products, as well as integrating Ortho biologics and other next generation technologies into the portfolio of Zimmer trauma solutions. The Zimmer Trauma Division is located in Warsaw, Indiana.

 

Job Summary

This position is to provide process expertise that will enable the business to identify, develop, resource, and commercialize quality products- on time and on target. This includes optimizing the project and portfolio management methodologies via training and coaching, the development of and maintenance of new tools and processes and sharing best practices across the division. Additionally, this position will lead the organization in the establishment and execution of confirmation of user needs and human factors.

 

Principal Duties Responsibilities

Be the process expert by being responsible for incorporating, supporting, training and improving NPD Process methodologies and pipeline reviews.
Actively participate in the establishment and maintenance of NPD and commercialization processes in support of the strategic direction of the Division.

Assist Project managers in the optimal management of their Core Teams by providing the necessary training and facilitating team activities for team-building, planning, decision-making and problem-solving.

Serve as needed and provide training for independent reviewer for all design reviews for NPD projects to ensure consistency across the Division and establishment and execution of confirmation of user needs and human factors considerations.

Establishes methodologies and processes for gathering, documenting, assessing, and addressing user needs for the Division.
Works with and drives teams in the establishment of user needs and usability requirements for all

projects.

Schedule, manage and document and be an active participant in the Phase Reviews to ensure the appropriate use of the process and the timely development and commercialization of new products that are aligned with the Divisions strategy and provide optimal portfolio value. This includes documenting the Boards the decisions and action items.

Education/Experience Requirements

-Bachelor degree in an analytical field or related science required

-Minimum 8+ years’ experience in new product development preferred

-Experience working in a medical device regulated environment

-Experience working in a matrix organization.

-Certified Project Manager Professional (PMP) is preferred.

 

Travel Requirements

-Up to 25%
