Chevron's Upstream Capability is accepting online applications for the position of RDOC Factory Drilling - Drilling/Completions Engineer located in Houston, Texas.

Overview:
This position will be a part of a new team to frame the use of a Real-time Drilling Optimization Center to coordinate, manage and promote the Upstream Workflow Transformation performance named "RDOC Factory drilling". This will enable the use of technology to assist help manage DC operations. In addition, ad-hoc tasks assigned from the Global DC group (PMG).

Position Details:
Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:

  • Contribute to the development of RDOC factory drilling" approach within the current RDOC project.
  • Frame the requirements of RDOC factory drilling".
  • Review current Real-time Drilling Optimization Center (RDOC), and means to maximize its use.
  • Work closely with respective SBU and Unconventional Resource groups, to define the requirements of RDOC-factory drilling".
  • Establish work-flows to maximize the use of RDOC for the coordination and supervision of multiple rigs.
  • Work closely with vendors to develop the optimal factory drilling" approach.
  • Focus on the use of standardization (SOP / Programs) for all aspects of wells delivery.
  • Develop processes and use of data to promote performance and enable rapid continuous improvements.
  • Investigate novel methods for the extraction, transmitting and use of Real-time data.
  • Provide ad-hoc expert drilling and completions advice/assistance to SBUs as required.
  • Assist Engineering Managers COP Drilling Completions Communities of Practice groups.
  • Promote Performance Drilling and HES within the Communities of Practice.
  • Participate as required with RAM peer reviews, SSTR, and Part IV/V MCP look-backs.

    Required Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in a engineering discipline.
  • Minimum 3 years of directly related experience.
  • Broad knowledge of drilling and completions, experience working both rigsite and office based.
  • Travel both domestic and international locations may be required. Trip lengths can last from 1-3 weeks.
  • Proven track record using performance data, to seek operational enhancement (Technical Limit). In addition, familiar with standardization approach to operations.
  • Applicable soft skills to communications to a broad array of personnel both internal and external of the company. Integrates well with a diverse team.
  • Proactive, ability to multi-task on a host of projects simultaneously. Associated project management skills to coordinate projects.
