Job Summary
The Assistant Director for Readmission responsibilities include: working with current students who have expressed an interest in withdrawing to remain in school; encouraging students who have withdrawn from the school to return; assisting those students in preparing for successful re-entry that will maximize the student's chances of completing school; and serving as the liaison between the re-entering student and the various school departments involved in the re-entry process. Incumbent must assure that the EDMC philosophy: quality services to clients; development, growth, involvement, and recognition of employees; sound economic principles; and environment which is conducive to innovation, positive thinking and expansion - is considered in carrying out the duties and responsibilities of this position.
Key Job Elements
- Provide exit interviews for students who have expressed an interest in withdrawal. Work students, or direct them to other employees as appropriate, to address and resolve their situations in an effort to have them remain in school. In the event that the withdrawal cannot be prevented, escort the student to the Registrar's Office to initiate the withdrawal process.
- Canvass by mail / telephone all students who have withdrawn from the school during a given time period determined by the Campus Head of Admissions. Determine former student's current status and situation. Discuss and encourage re-entry to the school as appropriate. Report / update former student information regardless of re-entry status.
- Schedule office / telephone appointments with former students interested in re-entry to review their status and requirements for successful re-entry. Assemble information regarding each potential re-entry into Readmissions file. Serve as coordinator / liaison with other school departments to complete the file and ensure that the re-entry student is prepared to begin classes. Attend periodic accountability meetings to review the re-enrollment process and problems in academic scheduling.
- Periodically advise re-entering students regarding progress in the process of returning to school. Advise other departments of the status of re-entry students via a weekly Readmissions Report for two quarters into the future.
- Submit a daily record of Readmissions statistical activities for compilation into a weekly Readmissions Production Report.
- Plan and coordinate registration and orientation activities for re-entry students.
- Advise the Campus Heads of Admissions and Academic Affiars regarding information discovered as a result of Readmissions activity that may be important to the school's retention effort, and maintain and upgrade knowledge of the sales process by means of regularly scheduled training with the Campus Head of Admissions.

Job Requirements
Knowledge:
- Bachelor's degree in business or related field required with a Master's degree preferred
- Three to five years of experience in an admissions or similar role preferably in a post-secondary institution.
- General knowledge of the enrollment and financial aid process of a post-secondary institution
- Possess a sincere interest in helping others achieve life goals.
Skills:
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Strong interpersonal skills with both faculty and student populations.
- Superior organizational and problem resolution skills.
- Strong expertise with MS Office as well as field related hardware and software packages and systems for reporting features.
Abilities:
- Ability to interact effectively as a member of a team and work collaboratively with other departments.
- Ability to listen to customers (e.g. students, staff, etc.) and to understand and respond positively to their requests
- Ability to work without close supervision and to set one's own priorities.
