Real Estate Acquisition and Asset Management
Overview of the division
Deutsche Asset Management is comprised of four primary investment areas, and is part of Deutsche Bank’s new Asset Wealth Management business, following combination with the bank’s Private Wealth Management group, its private banking operation.
- DWS Investments: the retail and mutual fund business.
- DB Advisors: the institutional investment business.
- Deutsche Insurance Asset Management: third-party insurance investment.
- RREEF Alternatives: specialist in alternative asset classes, including real estate, global infrastructure, public and private sustainability, commodities and hedge fund-of-funds.
Key Responsibilities
You will be responsible for:
- Assisting the business head in day to day asset management of Australian assets.
- Assisting the business head in the preparation of investment committee papers and recommendations, management of existing portfolio, due diligence and the execution of new investment opportunities.
- Undertake Industry and company research where required.
- Financial modelling and valuation analysis (existing and prospective assets) with EXCEL and ARGUS.
- Preparation of internal and external reports and presentations.
- Assisting with monthly/quarterly/annually reporting to clients.
- Responding to clients’ queries in relation to various issues (e.g. reports, valuations, return analysis).
- Sourcing high quality real estate transactions in Australia.
Requirements
To be successful in this role you will have:
- Previous experience (minimum 5+ years) in a financial analysis role in fund management, or management consulting with a specialisation in Real Estate sector, together with an understanding of general accounting principles.
- Strong financial modelling skills. Modelling of real estate type investments is a must.
- Candidate must have worked in Australia for at least 3 year and has successfully asset managed Australia assets.
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to develop a thorough understanding of the requirements for a successful Real Estate investment, including identifying suitable transactions in Australia..
- Strong analytical skills and a high level of numeracy.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to explain complex issues in a clear and concise manner.
- Strong presentation skills
- Intelligent, lateral thinker with the ability to identify solutions to complex problems.
- Solutions focused, with drive and determination to succeed in a competitive market.
- A team player who also has the ability to work autonomously where required.
- Appropriate tertiary qualifications in a financial, legal or quantitative discipline.
