Real Estate Financial Accountant: Global Private Equity Firm

The Opportunity:

A great opportunity to join a leading US global private equity firm who are now looking for a motivated and pro-active individual, to play a major role in the development and management of its Luxembourg operations, dedicated to pan-European real estate private equity funds.
You will be responsible for participating in the finance, accounting and tax compliance functions for their Luxembourg based investments and holding companies. Under the supervision of the Finance Director and Financial Controller, the Financial Accountant will work closely with internal staff, joint venture partners and external service providers to ensure that investments are properly accounted for in the Luxembourg holding company structure. The Financial Accountant will also assist with the accounting and reporting requirements of certain investment-level entities based in other European jurisdictions.

Key Responsibilities:

*Responsible for production and maintenance of the accounts (general ledger, balance sheet and income statement) for Luxembourg-based holding companies.
*Ensure accurate and timely monthly closing of the books.
*Prepare quarterly and annual financial reporting for investors reporting and regulatory requirements (standalone and consolidated financial statements, production of audit files)
*Liaise with outside service providers to review quarterly and annual financial reports for holding companies and investment level entities.
*Assist with the implementation and development of new accounting software and new chart of accounts for Luxembourg based entities.
*Participate in tax compliance of Luxembourg-based entities.
*Help to develop and implement controls and procedures regarding investment accounting and reporting functions.
*Participate in projects (transactions or other) depending on business needs and development.

The Competencies:

*Qualified Accountant or similar University Degree
*Experience with Luxembourg based holding company structures and Luxembourg accounting regulations
*Highly proficient in Excel.
*Knowledge of common legal documents and tax structures used in Luxembourg.
*Ideally prior Real estate fund / Big 4 / Fiduciary experience,
*Knowledge of US, German and Dutch GAAP; German and French language skills
*Analytical, numerate and accurate with good attention to detail; Comfortable with achieving deadlines; Highly organized and systematic in approach;; Good team player, effective in collaborating with other staff and functions to achieve company's goals and objectives and proven communication skills.
