Real Estate Restructuring – Assistant Manager recruitment
Responsible for supporting the Senior Manager to ensure the effective operation of the team on a day to day basis with the ultimate aim of maximising recovery of the assigned portfolio in accordance with guidelines. Taking primary responsibility for the management of a portfolio of non performing real estate loans.
In conjunction with the Senior Manager, ensure that each borrower or insolvency practitioner is adhering to their agreed business plan and co-ordinate the process involving the sale of Real Estate assets. Write the team's credit papers prior to review and signoff by the team Manager, provide coaching and support to junior colleagues and oversee the effective completion of the team's administrative activities.
Additionally
• Assist the team Manager in the management of the assigned loan portfolio (taking the lead role on a number of assigned cases), ensuring that the team operates in line with guidelines to deliver agreed goals.
• Continually manage each borrower or insolvency practitioner to ensure they are adhering to their agreed business plan
• Prepare credit papers which require minimal input from the Senior Manager prior to presentation at Credit Committee.
• Conduct due diligence on the loan portfolio and business plans put forward best alternatives for maximum loan recovery, whilst highlighting key risks and mitigants
• In conjunction with the Senior Manager, co-ordinate the process involving the sale and of Real Estate assets over which has taken control.
• Attend client meetings as required and act as the day to day point of contact for queries from borrowers, financial advisors and the Bank's professional advisors.
• Ensure the administration of the loan portfolio is carried out to the highest standards, including preparation of legal and drawdown documentation, managing borrower files and that all information is input onto the relevant systems.
• Co-ordinate all regular management information and ad hoc report requests for the team.
• Provide mentoring support to other team members to both promote staff development and maximise
team performance.
• Manage all professional fees due to advisors to ensure that they are fixed and agreed in advance and
regularly monitored.
• Deputise for team Senior Manager as required.
The candidate will:
• Demonstrate ability to assess credit risk, to write and present real estate credit applications and complete associated loan documentation obtaining minimal technical guidance as required.
• Have strong cash flow analysis skills.
• Have previous experience of the management of/supporting the management of a portfolio that includes real estate loans is essential
• Have experience of accompanying team manager to negotiation meetings with clients.
• Have experience of restructuring deals in the real estate sector in conjunction with team manager would be desirable.
• Have experience of working on cases involved in the insolvency process incorporating liquidation, receivership and administration experience would be a distinct advantage.
• Have experience of instructing and dealing with third party professionals. The ability to understand, question and propose amendment (where necessary) to third party reports.
•Present to credit committee (in written form and orally) in a succinct and highly professional manner.
• Lead and direct reports on a day to day basis, inspires, encourages and motivates colleagues to meet performance expectations.
