Position: Real Estate Review Appraiser
Location: Hong Kong S.A.R.
As part of the Appraisal Services Group (ASG), this position will be dedicated to the Private Bank line of business to support the increasing volume of real estate secured lending within the Asia Pacific region.
You will be responsible for the performance, ordering and delivery of the appraisal process (including the review of externally prepared appraisal reports) for transactions that are secured by real property located within the Asia Pacific region - principally Hong Kong and Singapore. This would involve determining the appropriate scope of work for the valuation assignment, selecting/ engaging qualified and independent appraisers and reviewing the final appraisal reports to ensure compliance with all applicable regulatory requirements and professional valuation standards. You will also assist in preparing internal evaluations for annual reviews ('subsequent transactions').
Skills
Education:
- Qualified real estate professional; holding one or more of the following designations: RICS, HKIS, SISV or API
- University degree - preferably in real estate/surveying
Experience:
- Minimum 5 years post qualification experience in valuation/appraisal of residential properties in Hong Kong (experience in valuing residential properties in Singapore and/or some commercial property valuation experience would be beneficial)
- Current experience in valuing and/or reviewing residential property in Hong Kong
- Knowledge of residential commercial appraisal theory application of standard approaches to value
- Knowledge of Hong Kong real estate markets valuations (Singapore would also be beneficial)
- Experience of using databases for researching sales transactions in Hong Kong (Singapore would also be beneficial)
- Good analytical and communication skills, both written and oral
- Demonstrate adherence to high reporting and control standards
- Good communicator, able to liaise with fellow valuers and impose reporting quality
- Good level of independence and capabilities in undertaking residential valuations
- Fluent in spoken and written English with preference also for Chinese (Cantonese/Putonghua) including reading Chinese
