Description

The Swindon Reconciliations team consists of 8 staff and is responsible for ensuring the timely reconciliation of cash, stock and other transactional data in the investment management system.
The reconciliation processes operate within standard daily, weekly and monthly cycle and includes the manual matching of ledger and statement entries, allocation of outstanding breaks to other departments, and the investigation of unallocated items.

Key Responsibilities

Completion of operational processes and controls to facilitate the reconciliation of investment records to third party data. This is primarily automated but also some manual reconciliation.
Management, investigation, referral and resolution of all differences identified via the automated reconciliation process.
Production of daily MI and KPI data

Responsibilities

Investigate exceptions identified during reconciliation process.
Completion of standard control reports and checks in accordance with agreed procedures and timeframes.
Use of data systems from third parties and interrogation of transactional data to identify root cause and ownership.
Keep the core reconciliation tool updated with root cause, action and ownership for all exceptions identified.
Track status of reconciling items referred to other departments.
Resolution of investigations in a timely manner
Escalation of exceptions according to age and risk criteria.
Number of reconciling items to be managed effectively and kept at a minimum.
Accountability for all functions allocated by the Reconciliations Supervisor and management team

Person Specification

Communicate effectively with business teams.
Asset and/or Cash Reconciliation experience an advantage
Good investigation skills
Personal organisation around work targets
Works well under pressure in a high volume environment with intraday deadlines
Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate clearly
Self-motivated, confident of ability, and able to work both alone and as part of a team.
Methodical approach and attention to detail

Ability to work outside of core business hours
