Recoveries & Litigation Relationship Manager

The Global Restructuring Group (GRG), along with Non-Core and the Asset Protection Scheme, play an important part in managing major corporate clients across the globe who find themselves in financial distress. We are responsible for the management of any problem lending portfolios, returning those accounts to the originating Group business unit or subsidiary in a satisfactory condition, maximising debt recoveries and obtaining levels of reward proportionate with risks undertaken. 

Credit Risk is responsible for managing credit risks and recommending risk appetite for RBS within an effective credit risk framework. The credit risk framework is the collective term for the governance structures, policy standards, control processes and infrastructure established to support the management of credit risk. 

As a Recoveries and Litigation Relationship Manager you'll be responsible for managing the recovery process on a portfolio of higher risk lending cases, where the debt level is between £1m-£20m. You'll be focussed on maximising the timing and amount of repayment and realising opportunities to improve return to the bank. This may involve litigation and strategies which add value beyond traditional recovery realisation. You'll deal with a variety of external professionals such as Accountants, Corporate Insolvency Solicitors and Professional Valuers as well as personal and business customers.  

To succeed as a Recoveries and Litigation Relationship Manager you'll be a team player who has a good understanding of insolvency, debt recovery, credit control and lending. Possibly as a result of having worked in finance or accountancy in a legal capacity. You'll have a working knowledge of  insolvency law and enforcement of security and be a confident negotiator.
