RECOVERY MECHANIC Job

RECOVERY MECHANIC, Nationwide

Are you a vehicle mechanic looking to earn some cash in your spare time? Or interested in training to become one? Either way, there’s a part-time Army job waiting for you right now.

As a Recovery Mechanic, it will be down to you to recover our ditched, bogged and overturned vehicles from combat situations so that our soldiers can get back to work.

You should be aged between 17 and 42, physically fit and enjoy working outside, being hands on and taking risks. It would also help if you have experience of, or an interest in, computing, driving, investigation, engineering, combat or ammunition handling.

After you’ve learned basic soldiering skills, we’ll train you to operate large recovery vehicles, work with heavy lifting equipment and become an effective radio operator and map reader. You’ll also be taught specialised techniques such as towing, winching and metal cutting – not to mention the leadership skills needed to take control of situations and personnel. In addition, you’ll get the chance to gain your City and Guilds Part I and Part II in Light Heavy Vehicle Recovery.
