Job Summary:
Under moderate direction, the Specialist evaluates legal liability and aggressively pursues, negotiates and resolves Commercial Property/Ocean Marine subrogation claims. The Ocean Marine line involves unique coverage dealing with cargo and hull claims. When on-site investigation is necessary, the Specialist secures additional information from the referring claims office, as well as communicating with customers, witnesses and business partners to obtain/provide the necessary information. Works within specific limits and authority on assignments of moderate technical complexity.
Job Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience is required.
The ideal candidate will have three to five years of commercial property subrogation to include Ocean Marine recovery experience.
Multi jurisdictional experience is beneficial.
Additional required skills:
-Good knowledge of commercial lines insurance, including, but not limited to jurisdictional and negligence law.
-Possesses functional knowledge and skills reflective of fully competent practitioner.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills and analytical skills.
-PC literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
