Job Summary:
Under limited direction, the Specialist evaluates legal liability and aggressively pursues, negotiates and resolves high severity Workers’ Compensation subrogation claims. When on-site investigation is necessary, the Specialist secures additional information from the referring claims office, as well as communicating with customers, witnesses, attorneys and business partners to obtain/provide the necessary information. The Specialist manages litigation through conclusion including mediation and trial, working within broad limits and authority involving highly complex assignments requiring specialized knowledge in the referenced lines of business. The individual is viewed as a senior resource in the given field for department and may provide technical advice/direction to team members.

Job Qualifications:
Bachelors Degree or equivalent work experience is required.
The ideal candidate will have five or more years of third party contribution and cost share recovery experience with specialized knowledge in Workers’ Compensation claims involving moderate to high levels of severity OR practicing attorney with experience handling Workers’ Compensation coverage related matters. Litigation management experience is required with multi jurisdictional experience beneficial.

Additional required skills:
-Good knowledge of commercial lines insurance, including, but not limited to jurisdictional and negligence law.
-Possesses functional knowledge and skills reflective of fully competent practitioner.
-Excellent verbal and written communication skills and analytical skills.
-PC literate with working knowledge of Microsoft Office software
