Equity Residential is seeking an experienced Recruiter to join our Northeast Human Resources team. Based in the Boston area, the Recruiter will be responsible for the overall sourcing and recruitment of high-quality candidates to meet current and future staffing needs in the Boston and New York metro markets. Reporting to the Northeast HR Director and working closely with the regional operations team, the Recruiter will use a variety of strategies to fill job openings (field and corporate) in a timely manner and ensure cost effective, creative, and strategic candidate sourcing. Key responsibilities include employment advertising, screening and interviewing candidates, hosting job fairs, college/trade school recruiting, cultivating sourcing relationships to ensure a diverse candidate pool for all openings, coaching and training managers on behavioral interviewing skills, consulting with corporate business partners, and analyzing results of recruiting strategies and employment turnover. Essential Functions : In partnership with the Regional/Area VicePresident(s) and Regional Managers, develops and implements recruiting and selection strategies. Researches, identifies, and establishes business relationships with recruiting sources in local communities, with an emphasis on diversity and military sourcing. Coordinates and leads job fairs at properties, universities, trade schools, local city-sponsored events, etc., in an effort to continue Equity's diversity efforts. Recruits for and oversees a successful Summer Internship program for college students, Military Personnel Trainee Program for transitioning service members, and Job Corps work-based learning/maintenance apprenticeship program in the Boston and New York metro areas. Prepares recruitment advertisements and acts as point of contact for all recruitment inquiries. Analyzes and monitors recruiting metrics (average days to fill, employment turnover rates, hires by source and position, etc.) and prepares quarterly Recruiting Analytics reports. Presents findings to upper level management on an ongoing basis. Telephone screens and conducts in-person or video interviews with candidates. Refers candidates to properties and/or supervisors for further interviews and follows up with hiring managers on applicant status. Provides effective and frequent communication to all levels of management. Manages internal transfer and promotion process for assigned geographic area. Conducts management training associated with the hiring and selection process, including adherence to and compliance with Equity Residential's AAP and applicant tracking. Represents the Company in a professional manner at all times. Consistently maintains a professional image and demeanor when dealing with applicants, co-workers and the general public. Performs other duties as assigned.
