Refined Oil Products Supply and Demand Analyst recruitment
The Senior Oil Analyst will work in the Downstream Research team specialising in EMEA region refining. This role sits within a world class consultancy producing oil market analysis for investment banks, majors and trading houses globally.
As the Senior Analyst, you will become an authority on the consultancies view of the refining sector, able to present confidently to clients, at conferences, and when dealing with the press.
The Senior Analyst will work with a small refining team in the UK and provide support to Asia and US analysts and should be confident working in a team across multiple locations.
Main Responsibilities
- Responsible for supply analysis of refined products
- Forecasting of refined product supply at a country and regional level, accounting for future refinery investments and market dynamics
- Analysis of future oil product supply/demand balances and implications for the refining industry
- Analyse refinery competitive position (net cash margin), with a focus on EMEA/FSU
- Responsible for team's Refinery Evaluation Model
- Examination and validation of refinery refining investment plans and company investment strategy
- Respond to client enquiries and ad hoc requests in a timely and professional manner
- Write occasional 'Insight' reports on structural issues, asset transactions and topical events likely to be of interest to clients
- Coach junior analysts and colleagues, improving the competency of the team and sharing knowledge effectively
