Regional Audit Director – Asia Pacific recruitment
With over a century of experience, this reputable Fortune Global 100 financial services company is seeking a seasoned Audit Director to manage an experienced team across both their life general insurance business for the region.
Reporting directly to the Group Head of Group Audit, the Regional Audit Director is accountable for all career management and relationship management (internal and external) within APAC and for ensuring local risks are fully considered in the development of the audit plan and its execution.
Key Responsibilities -
- Responsible for influencing and helping develop the governance, risk and control
- frameworks within the region.
- Plays major role in the governance framework and process, such as the Regional
- Oversight Committee.
- Provides assurance on the control environment to management, all relevant Boards/Audit Committees and the Oversight Committee.
- Prepare the regional audit team for the further expansion of the business segments in the Region, including anticipating staffing and scheduling needs.
- Responsible for relationship management with Regional Executive Management and
- statutory entity management to ensure internal audit services address their needs.
- Responsible for execution of and / or closing out of some audits in the region.
- Manages all aspects of insurance regulation related to internal audit and being the face of Group Audit to all regulators.
- Responsible for career management of the regional audit team.
- Managing the performance of all individuals across the region
- Responsible for recruiting high calibre individuals from the business and externally in line with the agreed resourcing plan
- Prepare, maintain and monitor regional budgets.
Qualifications/Experience -
- The jobholder is likely to be a director from within the business or the industry. The jobholder will have significant knowledge of one or more technical areas (approx. 15+ years in the industry) or be a qualified accountant with 8+ years PQE.
- Relevant professional qualification (chartered accountant, MBA or equivalent).
- Extensive experience within complex, fast moving and international organisations.
- Demonstrates relevant business knowledge.
- Excellent knowledge and understanding of customer functional organizational operations needs and how this relates to governance and profitability.
- Superior knowledge of APAC region as well as a solid understanding of business and audit processes.
- Complete understanding of local and international insurance organisations and processes.
- Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements in major jurisdictions and familiarity of one or more relevant jurisdictions.
