Regional Business Manager- SME, Commercial recruitment
Purpose of the Position
To provide leadership and coordination for the Asia Pacific regional SME operations. The candidate will ensure the PC drives toward its target operating model and beyond, realising cost effective outcomes and service delivery objectives and aid the transformation of the profit centre and segment.
Key Result Areas
Realisation of the full benefits of system and process project implementations
Setting up and maintaining a cost effective and reliable shared services support model
Driving future implementations of eBusiness platforms (like Transact) within key countries for transforming SME PC into a highly profitable
segment.
Drive change management as a key driver for business process and productivity improvement
Work with CSI, Operations and other service units to engage and maximise returns from process improvement and operational efficiencies.
Ensure that Regulatory Compliance and HO governance framework (L1SOS) is adhered to
Ensure the PC's value added and cost effective technology requirements are communicated and understood by IT, and be a representative of PC in prioritising the turnkey business initiatives towards profitable growth of PC.
Aid in the product development and underwriting functions in providing best service models in support of proposals for large business opportunities such as bancassurance direct.
Ensure the implementation of operational metrics into countries to validate and track projected growth and net profit.
Set up a regimented governance framework for all the SME projects throughout all the phases.
Set up customer analytics tools and techniques to help PC make key business decisions via market segmentation and creating product differentiation for commercial advantage.
Experience Required:
5-8 years project management experience necessary, preferably with a strong process and IT focus.
3-5 years direct experience managing an international team.
Previous exposure to international business environment and offshore team management.
Strong leader with the ability to drive change through training and staff motivation.
Minimum 5 to 10 years experience in operations management, processing engineering, quality engineering or equivalent consulting experience
Strong knowledge of process engineering and continuous improvement methodologies and quality systems (Lean, ISO, Six Sigma)
Strong interpersonal, leadership, collaboration, facilitation and negotiation skills
Focused on finding the right solutions: investigate, engage and probe, research, collaborate with stakeholders and innovate
Excellent Organisational and Time Management skills
Possesses problem solving, prioritization, presentation and facilitation skills with the ability to make recommendations to all levels of the organization.
Ability to concurrently manage multiple projects or programs of work.
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate staff and to apply skills and techniques to solve dynamic problems.
Be trusted advocate and advisor of PC by complementing PC in realising business objectives and vision.
Insurance industry experience and knowledge of industry practices, processes and standards.
Regulatory/ Tariff requirements prevalent in APAC region
Knowledge of SME market/ business operating model
Strong Domain knowledge in General Insurance
Bachelors degree or higher qualification
Business or management qualification or experience is beneficial
Formal qualifications in areas such as process management, project management is desirable.
