A specialist insurer is looking for a Regional Motor Manager to use their technical expertise, commercial vehicle underwriting experience and management abilities to create and refine strategies within the Midlands and South West region.

The Role
You will assist the Regional Underwriting Manager to create, refine, execute and implement new business and retention strategies for the Commercial Motor account. This will include managing and developing strong business relationships with Brokers, identifying key areas of growth within the region, attending client meetings, liaising with internal departments to implement cross-selling and promoting a sales focus and customer/broker-centric mentality within the Regional Motor Team.
Accountable for staff across the region, you will recruit, develop and retain talented staff within branches. You will participate in/support team meetings, regularly assess staff training needs, conduct performance appraisals and be a point of contact for guidance and consultation in Underwriting issues within the Region.
You will also be responsible for reporting on service levels and budgets and for your region and ensuring compliance with key regulatory and risk management responsibilities.
The role will be based in the Birmingham office but covers the South West of England/Wales, Midlands as far North as Stoke and Central, East and West Midlands.
The Benefits
Basic salary of c£50,000 plus excellent company benefits.
The Person
For your application to be successful, you will have previous experience underwriting Commercial Motor Insurance products and have strong technical expertise. You will have a background in people management and have excellent communication skills. ACII qualification (or progress towards) would be advantageous.
