The Regional Communications Manager is responsible for community relations, public relations and branding/marketing support for BlueShield of Northeastern New York. In this role, you will work closely with the Albany leadership team to identify and implement community relations activities, enhance branding and maximize media and networking opportunities.
Specifically you will:
- Work with the Director of Corporate Relations to create and implement community relations and visibility strategy.
- Assists in the development, planning and execution of community partnerships, corporate programs and special events that promote good will, fosters relationships with key community stakeholders and area business and extends the brand positioning of the organization.
- Solicits, reviews and advises on sponsorship and community support requests. Maintains database of all current and recent corporate partnerships, oversees and manages activation and tracks, measures and maximizes sponsorship benefits.
- Proactively manages and executes a public relations strategy for the Albany market.
- Coordinates Healthy Zone Cruiser staffing, appearances, and outreach, maximizing impact and reach. Tracks and measures results.
- Manages communications intern(s) and temporary employee(s) as assigned and approved by Director.
What you need to succeed:
- Bachelors Degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations or related field is required. Masters Degree preferred.
- Minimum 7 years of progressive growth and career advancement
- Extensive and established relationships and knowledge of the Northeastern New York region, including business/employer community, media environment and not-for-profit organizations.
- Knowledge of branding and advertising landscape in Northeastern New York and ability to enhance decisions on resource allocation to maximize impact and reach.
- Must be able to accommodate local travel. Driver's License/DMV check required.
