Regional Director – Metro Market
The Metro Market Regional Director is a senior field leader within the Manpower Staffing organization responsible for the effective management and profitable operation of aligned Profit Centers within an assigned metropolitan area. This includes overall responsibility for: 1) achieving market share growth as well as net operating profit results based on consistent day-to-day operational management practices, 2) leading a high performance team including the recruitment and development of a high-performance staff, 3) ensuring strong focus on client acquisition and service including recruiting and maintaining a talent pool of qualified candidates to fulfill client requirements, 4) assessing and implementing a market-focused sales and business development strategy based on industry segmentation, and 5) leveraging community activities and relationships in order to influence decision-making and to demonstrate thought leadership.
- Responsible for leveraging across functional resources from corporate office as well as other staffing areas to analyze the local metro market as a means to identifying and focusing the team on capturing market share.
- Provides overall supervision and leadership of staff employees including Managers, Sales Executives and Operational staff, including clear expectations and accountability.
- Maintains communication with staff regarding Manpower's strategies, objectives and results to drive alignment.
- Ensures strategy is in place and executed for the recruitment and retention of associate employees.
- Develops, implements, and manages a targeted business development program to capture and maintain sales opportunities which define and grow Manpower's local market share.
- Participates on influential and visibly strategic local and community organizations to improve Manpower's leadership position within the assigned metropolitan area.
- Prepares a yearly forecast of projected sales, gross profit and net profit (included in the plan is a budget outlining all expenses necessary to achieve the desired net operating profit).
- Oversees bill/pay structure and decisions to ensure a proper gross profit level is maintained for the region/metropolitan area.
- Implements collection policies and procedures which align with corporate expectations.
- Implements and monitors the Corporate Service Standards, including the Quality Performance Program, for all services offered.
- Analyzes all financial and general management reports, e.g., financial statements, gross profit flash-reports, sales analysis, accounts receivable aged reports, etc.. in order to make appropriate business decisions to achieve stated goals
- Prepare periodic management reports on area activities and forecasts as required.
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred
- 10+ years in sales/business development;
- 5+ years direct management of sales, operations (PL) and people
- Demonstrated ability to manage the drivers of profit and loss to achieve business results
- Demonstrated ability to select and develop a high-performance team
- Demonstrated city and community involvement and leadership
- Demonstrated ability to analyze market/industry data and create clear strategies
- Demonstrated ability to leverage the value of diversity within a business model
- Proven, successful experience managing an organization of 20+ people and sales of $20M+
- Ability to influence the decision-makers at client locations
- Ability to work within a matrix-management structure
- Ability to analyze and evaluate people, data, and things to determine courses of action.
- Ability to multi-task between competing priorities and initiatives.
- Ability to understand and accurately apply basic math skills
- Ability to make competent use of work-related equipment and materials.
- Professional Services experience preferred.
- Experience as a Branch Manager within Manpower is preferred
- Fluent in at least 2 languages preferred; ideally, English and Spanish
