Regional Head of AML and Sanctions Advisory

A well known wholesale bank is looking to recruit for Regional Head for AML Advisory and Sanctions. This is a newly created AML Sanctions Advisory position, designed to enhance the management and oversight of financial crime risk management across EMEA. You will be reporting in to the EMEA Head of Financial Crime and will have a key responsibility will be to assist with the strategic build out of the financial crime framework across EMEA, in particular the oversight of the AML program.

Responsibilities:

-Key responsibility will be to assist with the strategic build out of the financial crime framework in particular have the oversight of the AML program
-Provide guidance and support to the Financial Crime teams and businesses across EMEA
-Direct supervision of the in-country MLROs and EMEA KYC Manager, assisting with the development and implementation of risk sensitive AML programs across EMEA
-Responsibility for overseeing the coordination and implementation of financial crime initiatives across the region
-Act as spokesperson for the region regarding AML and Financial Crime queries within the bank
-Communication and escalation of Financial Crime issues to Senior Management, proactively assisting with the identification of solutions.
-Assist with the management and implementation of the regional AML oversight program in accordance with Global AML Policy requirements
-Provide analysis of legal and regulatory developments relating to Financial Crime, and ensure policies and procedures are compliant
-Create a risk management framework across EMEA with particular emphasis on the establishment of consistent risk assessment processes
-Develop strong working relationships with Audit, Compliance and Operational Risk and across the lines of business. Liaise with these departments as appropriate to ensure timely identification and resolution of Financial Crime related issues

Skills:

-Previous significant AML Financial Crime experience of working in large complex financial institution is a must
-Knowledge and understanding of AML laws, rules and regulations in EMEA and knowledge of the global AML regulatory environment.
-Experience of managing a team of people working in a high pressure environment, working to tight deadlines and displaying efficiency and effectiveness on a daily basis.
