Regional Head of Personal Lines recruitment

We are seeking a highly experienced and strategic individual to fill the position of Regional Head of Personal Lines.  The position will be responsible for leading and managing all personal lines business within Central Region, comprising 21 countries, including Russia, Turkey, the GCC, the Indian sub-continent and several countries in Africa.

Reporting to the Regional Head of Consumer Lines, this position will be based in Dubai, with a functional reporting line to the Global Head of Personal Lines.

Specific responsibilities will include:

• Create the vision for the Region
• Act as the leader and key decision maker for all Personal Lines Business
• Lead the field in the development, implementation, and execution of the Personal Lines strategies and priorities
• Work with the field offices to develop top and bottom line budgets and develop necessary business plans to achieve desired results in the assigned country/region
• Assure underwriting  authorities are issued in accordance with  policy standards and adhered to by  all Personal Lines staff
• Provide leadership in the recruiting, hiring, training and development of key Personal Lines Profit Center staff and be responsible for future succession planning
• Communicate Personal Lines initiatives strategies on an ongoing basis to Regional and Country level personnel
• Provide leadership in establishing requirements for field management in accordance with NY Profit Center standards
• Assure underwriting best practices and adherence to regulatory and compliance requirements
• Play an active role in the development, negotiation, and sign off of large Personal Lines programs which are outside of the local underwriter’s delegated authority
• Assist the field with adapting key Personal Lines initiatives to local markets needs
• Implement policy and best practices for Personal Lines business in accordance with the AIU corporate standards for assigned area
• Adhere to regular and standard reporting requirements (i.e. monthly reports, budgets, estimate, etc.)
• Jointly develop Benchmarks with Regional Claims Management
• Coordinate with Claims Management to monitor the key measurements which affect our business (Benchmarks)   
• Promote the implementation of portfolio management technology and position the discipline of portfolio management as a strategic lever
• Monitor key business indicators and implement corrective actions as necessary
• Assures compliance of  Reinsurance and security requirements
• Seek opportunities to improve synergies and cross sell activities between Profit Centers, distribution channels and companies within the AIG Group
• Conduct periodic field reviews to assess key business performance measurements and assure they are in accordance with Personal Lines objectives
• Continuously  explore and develop new business opportunities

The successful candidate for this very senior position will possess a minimum of 15 years' experience in personal lines underwriting and management in diverse business environments, with a proven track record of leading and delivering profitable business returns.
