Regional Head of Program Services – EMEA – Banking recruitment
Overall Mandate
Reporting into the Global Head of IT program Services, this role will have responsibility to:
- Lead the Regional EMEA IT in-house program services organization, supporting the long-term success of the bank by providing high quality IT-wide project management and PMO services based on best practices for strategic business and IT initiatives
- Ensure the EMEA Regional Program Services organization is aligned with the overall business direction of the Global Office of IT Strategy
- Partner with the Regional CIO and provide insight into regional project portfolio
- Partner with the divisional Office of IT Strategy leads in the implementation of the Results Management Office concept.
- Take a senior and active role within the regional project management job family.
Responsibilities:
- Actively manage Regional in-house project management portfolio (both on behalf of the CIO and his direct reports) and ensure cost-effective and timely delivery on agreed projects
- Engage key Regional IT Stakeholders to market the IT Program Services/PMO group and identify project demand
- Build and retain a high performing regional team of senior program managers and program support staff to meet client demand. Re-enforce the global culture of excellence, development and mentoring throughout the group. Foster collaborative environment for team to provide best-in-class solutions
- Establish and continuously improve program management standards, tools and methods
- Implement best practice methodologies within the EMEA region.
- Collaborate with global peers to ensure consistent approach and solutions
- Improve transparency and objectivity of reporting into complex initiatives, with a focus on business interdependencies and benefits tracking and realization
- Manage regional resources and act as an escalation point for issue resolution, negotiation, and influencing
- Manage team by applying a strict performance management system based on up-or-out (meaning internal mobility)
- Build and maintain trust-based and professional relationships with the most senior IT leadership team, act as sparring partner for top IT management
- Evaluate and adhere to utilization, client satisfaction and budget targets
- Participate in regional management activities, such as job family initiatives and community building events.

Skills and Attributes
Candidate Profile
- University degree, ideally a technical background with additional business education (e.g. MBA)
- Extensive experience in IT management with a proven large scale project delivery track record (multi-year, $10MM+ budget), and experience working with top managers of a large global enterprise
- High degree of business knowledge of investment banking, capital markets or wealth management
- Strong content leader and problem solver with the ability to perform in politically difficult situations
- Change agent, willing and able to constructively challenge senior management and support improvements
- Excellent people skills (development, coaching, interacting with difficult persons)
- Ability to develop senior relationships and be seen as a trusted advisor to all key stakeholders
- Exceptional oral and written communications skills
