Regional Middle Office & Market Risk Management recruitment
Our client is a well-established Corporate Bank in Asia, in support of their expanding business in the Greater China region, they are looking for candidate with high calibre for the following newly created position:
Regional Middle Office, Executive
Department: Middle Office
Objectives:
- Provide full support to Head of Middle Office in developing an effective and efficient regional market risk management and management reporting functions for HK branch and Greater China operations.
- Ensure market risk, trading and management reports are accurately prepared and timely submitted to CEO of Greater China, Head of Middle Office, Head of Accounting, Head of Market Risk Management HKG, Business Units Heads and Head Office.
- Assist in implementation of monitoring and controls procedures related to management reporting market risk management
- Work as a team with Accounting and Market Risk Management sections to ensure Middle Office’s goals and performance targets are achieved
- Provide value-added feedback to Head of Middle Office to cover performance improvement of business units from time to time, changes in regulatory requirements, market and industry developments and changes in financial reporting requirements and accounting standards
- As backup for Accounting and Market Risk Management sections when required
Duties:
Market Risk Management for Global Markets portfolio
Monitor market risk and trading exposure positions and report breaches of limit to management
- Prepare and submit market/trading risk and portfolio reports to senior management, Head Office and regulators and ensure all supporting records and data are properly documented
- Assist in the preparation of ALCO, regulatory and management reports to senior management, Head Office and regulator when required
- Assist in stress and scenario testing for risk management purpose
- Assist in the development and update of market risk management manual/policies and Completion Guide for various risk reports and risk models
- Maintain models applied for stress testing, risk controls, reporting, assessment and analysis and ensure all workings and supporting records are properly documented
- Develop proper forecast to Head of Middle Office for review and approval
- Working as a team with other teams in HK Branch.
Middle Office
- Assist in the development of framework/model for financial product assessment
- Conduct financial product assessment and ensure all workings and supporting records are properly documented and maintained
- Work with other business units of Greater China
Accounting
- Participate in financial product development project, Provide value-adding feedback from accounting and financial control perspectives and evaluate pricing and exposure model for new products
- Work with other business units of Greater China
- Participate in accounting and risk management system / platform testing implementation
- Provide users requirements to IT team (local and HO) and system vendors and value-adding feedback to the system development process
- Perform UAT and work closely with IT team to ensure the accounting system is properly implemented within schedule
Requirements:
- Degree holder
- 4-6 years relevant experience gained from banks or financial institutions, working experience in multi-functions and/or regional role a plus
- Good understanding of middle office operations, valuation and controls of treasury, securities derivatives products
- Good understanding of market risk and trading risk reporting and management reporting functions
- Ability to perform under manual operating environment and assist in system implementation project
- Good communication and interpersonal skills
- Excellent command of spoken English is a must, good command of Chinese, including Mandarin
- Highly independent and self-initiative
