Regional Operational Risk Manager recruitment

*Coordinate, drive and direct effective Compliance and Operational Risk Management.
*Implement controls to meet all regulatory and internal requirements.
*Ensure proper functioning of day-to-day controls, periodic monitoring activities and timely resolution of risk issues.
*Ensure a continual drive towards automating control processes.
*Develop risk reporting tools for trend analysis and adhoc reporting.

Key Roles Responsibilities

Over an allocated group of countries have the following responsibilities:

*To be the source of reference in facilitating and promoting the understanding of OR and compliance requirements.
*Lead and support implementation of OR initiatives.
*Proactively communicate with the department heads and OR managers on operational risk issues. Escalate significant events to as appropriate.
*Coordinate, consolidate and analyse operational risk reporting, ensuring data accuracy and completeness.
*Design and implement control measures and monitoring plans for compliance and operational risk management. Ensure effectiveness of controls for compliance monitoring and risk management.
*Undertake and/or coordinate periodic business monitoring (self-assessment) activities within the countries and escalate findings and or breaches when they occur.
*Ensure risks and issues identified are resolved in an appropriate and timely manner.
*Assist in the implementation of OR framework or other relevant OR initiatives.
*Identify gaps and arrange training on compliance and OR for staff.
*Periodic engagements with for key stakeholders including OR updates and trend analysis.
*Coordinate risk specific development projects.
*Identify potential areas of automation and oversee implementation
*Improve the quality and scope of risk reporting.
*Act as the central coordinator for audit preparation esp for Global audit, and review findings/ observations.
*Implement and monitor group policies/ procedures rollout.

Qualifications Skills
*Degree holder in Financial, business or other related undergraduate degree
*3-5 years banking experience in Operations.
*Have a good understanding of industry standard processes within Operations such as settlement, confirmations and reconciliation.
*Good interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills and a proven ability to work independently.
*Must be self-motivated and have a strong attention to detail.
*Experience of working within a multi-product environment is preferred.
*Experience in Operational Risk Management or Operations Middle Management is essential.
