You will work strategically with senior executives to ensure that the organization excels in providing competitive, profitable and complete product solutions that meet the varied and changing needs of our investors; likewise the role will help ensure the organization excels in providing top quality sales and client service by thorough research and product development efforts, product positioning, and product placement with a focus on the Institutional market. The position requires a high level of Institutional knowledge and background in Institutional markets globally. The role will have decision making authority across business channels and geographies in determining product gaps, recommending new and innovative products, pricing strategies, product positioning and training.
Responsibilities:
- Identify institutional market, regulatory, industry, competitor and investment trends and provide investment content, training and presentations on these topics to senior management, relevant sales staff and external clients.
- Develop new products, strategize and roadmap product range to capture product and market opportunities.
- Evaluate, recommend and research innovative product ideas for senior management consideration and evaluation.
- Conduct market competitiveness analysis relative to local competitors, identify opportunities and recommend product ideas or focuses suitable for customers across institutional markets and other business channels.
- Coordinate ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) initiative and content development on behalf of global distribution
- Support the gathering and retention of assets under management by working closely with senior executives, sales and client service professionals across business channels, with a focus on the institutional market globally.
- Provide consultative and direct assistance to product-related inquiries, gather, compile and assess business needs, negotiate product approval process and address specific pricing issues
Requirements:
- Institutional product development and/or product management required and familiarity with alternative investments is a plus
- 10-15 years related industry experience working with Institutional clients globally.
- Strong distribution channel expertise and client segment knowledge, expertise across multiple channels (e.g. retail and institutional in US and abroad)
- Knowledge of institutional markets, market trends, products techniques
- Strong relationship management skills
- Understanding of multiple regulatory requirements for institutional products globally
- Knowledge of Franklin Templeton's distribution channels and strategy, particularly in US institutional and institutional markets offshore a plus
- Bachelor's degree, MBA a plus
- CFA qualification (or working toward completion) preferred
