Regional Project Manager (2-year contract) recruitment
MAIN PURPOSE OF JOB
Lead and own delivery of a project. This entails managing work required to deliver a specific solution that meets a business need, and for ensuring that project objectives are met while balancing the constraints, incl. scope, budget, schedule, resources, quality, risk, and others.
In addition, project managers will manage stakeholders through the change process and drive critical decision-making with sponsors (while keeping senior management informed) through the use of AXA’s Project Management standards and best practices.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES
The role would cover the following key areas:
1. Planning
- Assist Project Sponsor in identification of new projects which tie into strategic plan (as required) – working in close collaboration with the OneIT Business Partner team.
- Develop project plan, business case and budget for approval by relevant sponsor/ committees that are accurate (based on available information) and implementable.
- Develop Work Breakdown Structure (WBS) for project team, tracking interdependencies between workstreams and also dependencies with other projects.
- Ensure alignment of project scope, resource requirements and project plan.
- Define project quality, risk, communication and change management plans.
- Define clear roles and responsibilities within project for team members.
2. Implementation
- Involve procurement and legal practices to develop Request for Proposals and effectively managing vendor relationship during implementation – working in close collaboration with OneIT CIO Office – Procurement Sourcing team.
- Prioritize, manage and allocate tasks to team members (OneIT, vendors, etc.) and ensure activities executed and deliverables are at appropriate quality.
- Manage sponsor’s expectations and ensure buy-in from key stakeholders and senior management on critical project issues to ensure final project performance meets or exceeds agreed standards. This includes involving project stakeholders in the delivery process (e.g., definition of requirements, user testing, change management, etc.) to ensure a successful project.
- Ensure proper communication between all relevant parties within a project.
- Lead and motivate project team to carry out all project tasks and deliverables according to agreed time and cost estimates. Being accountable for project delivery.
- Lead transition handover process to business (and/or OneIT Solution Delivery/ Production teams for IT related components) prior to project closure.
3. Monitoring
- Ensure all project costs are budgeted, forecasted, accrued and charged appropriately and on a timely basis – working closely with OneIT Value Management, OneIT CIO Office Finance and AXA Asia’s Finance teams.
- Ensure proper benefits tracking mechanism is in place before project completion.
- Performing project closure including closure of project cost accounts, storage of project files and post implementation reviews.
4. Other
- Chair and facilitate project status/ design meetings including brainstorming, decision-making and issue resolution.
- Prepare clear communication (written and oral to drive decisions, obtain guidance and direction and/or inform stakeholders on status of project).
- Establish appropriate project governance – including Project Steering Committees, working team group meetings, etc.
- Provide coaching to team members (e.g., business analysts) and on-the-job training (as required)
- Prepare Individual Performance Assessment (project based) for team (i.e., Business Analysts) – including providing feedback on development needs and identifying training.

- Functions: Operations (Marketing, Distribution, Customer Service), Strategy, Finance, Human Resources, Legal
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
- University graduate, preferably in Business, Finance, IT or related disciplines. Preferably project management (PMP) certified
- With at least 8 years experience in managing regional projects (multi-country multi-business line). Project team size managed 10 – 20 FTE; project budget managed USD 1mn.
- Significant knowledge in insurance business across product, sales/ customer support, distribution, operation and finance reporting
- Strong change management skills and experience, with a proven track record of developing, implementing and maintaining business systems.
- Ability to lead a team of IT professionals and business analysts in different project development phases in both technical and business perspectives
- Excellent verbal and written English communication and presentation skills.
- Excellent inter-personal and negotiation skills.
