REGIONAL PROJECT MANAGER, TREASURY RISK

Our client is a world-leading global application software provider that delivers an integrated suite of trading and risk applications to the capital markets within banks and other companies participating in the world’s financial markets.

The role resides within the Financial Markets Risk Division of the company and reports to the Head of Operations, Risk Management for ASEAN South Asia.

Role Description:

The Project Manager will define, scope and manage bounded areas of project work while supporting business and programme management staff. Typical scope of the projects will be greater than 6 months, involve more than 10 FTEs which are cross functional and be a project that is critical to the company meeting its objectives.
The role would be expected to control and manage cross-functional teams (technical and functional staff, business analysts and other project resources) both internally within the Company and externally (at a client).

Responsibilities:

• Defines, documents and executes projects of extreme high risk, complexity and visibility, actively participating in all phases of the project.
• Identifies, assesses and manages risks to the success of the project. Drafts feasibility studies, risk assessments and statements of work. May develop or assist in developing business cases for large projects with significant impact to company goals. Responsible for producing all typical project documentation - detailed project plans, work plans, schedules, project estimates, conversion schedules, resource plans and status reports. Determines project methodology. Defines project scope and objectives.
• Agrees terms of reference to enable costs, timescales and resource requirements for the successful completion of each project to be estimated.  Wholly responsible for the financial success of the project(s) and for controlling the project PL throughout its term.
• Has responsibility to ensure project deliverables are demonstrably fit for purpose.
• Gains commitments to ensure corrective actions are taken if costs, timescales or resources deviate from agreed tolerances.
• Manages the change control procedure gaining agreement for revisions to the project from project stakeholders and ensure full impact of significant changes are understood by project stakeholders.
• Ensures all parties are aware of project scope and milestones. Highlights divergence from that scope, and adjusts it where necessary to reflect changing circumstances, acts a communication liaison.
• Undertake regional travel as required.

Requirements:

1 – Required Experience

• Experience in managing software project implementations: 5-7 years minimum.
• Banking experience (trading floor or risk management): 3-5 years.
• Experience working for another financial markets risk management vendor would be a distinct advantage.
• Professional certification such as PMP from the Project Management Institute is desirable. Experience must demonstrate managing projects (with teams based in multiple locations) to successfully deliver within specified timescales and budget.
