Our client is a major insurer with significant presence in the region. It is seeking to recruit a high caliber Regional Risk Compliance, Senior Manager.
Reporting to the Regional Head of Risk and Compliance, you will have an oversight responsibility of risk and compliance for North Asia (covering Hong Kong, Macau, China, Korea and Japan). You will develop an appropriate framework and assist the businesses implement and embed the methodology which will facilitate the businesses in identifying and assessing risk within the region, meeting the standards set by the Group, and complying with regional regulatory requirements. You independently monitor, review and challenge Asia businesses and support functions on the effectiveness of their control environment in combination with work carried out by Internal Audit (3rd line of defence) and Quality Assurance (1st line of defence). You will work with the Business Unit Heads to determine risk management and compliance monitoring plans and agree the annual plan with the Regional Head of Risk and Compliance for Asia and country managers. You will build and maintain effective working relationships with the regulators, external auditors, industry groups and other external stakeholders as necessary / appropriate. You will provide leadership and training to the risk compliance community from a technical, knowledge and behavioral perspective.
With extensive experience of risk management and / or compliance, ideally within Insurance / Reinsurance sector (including broking), you are commercial, hands on and highly motivated. You possess strong influencing and execution skills and the ability to liaise and work with senior management. With good understanding and working knowledge of current risk management practices techniques, you have a broad knowledge of general and life insurance / reinsurance sector, and the regulatory environment .
