Regional Surety Manager recruitment
You will be responsible for the development and maintaining of strong relationship and network with customers, brokers and intermediaries in support of business retention and acquisition, as well as working with customers and brokers to determine their insurance related needs and provide solutions, and contributes to the development of propositions development.
Responsibility
- Create local underwriting and business infrastructure in Singapore to start up and build the Surety book for the Asia Pacific Region
- Develop and implement the Go-To-Market Underwriting strategy to drive long term profitable growth of Surety business focusing initially in Singapore and further into HK, Australia and other countries in the Asia Pacific Region
- Building strong relationship and networking with markets
- Leveraging on Group’s capability and strengths, promotes the company's brand as the leading Surety carrier providing insurance solutions to the markets in Singapore and across Asia Pacific
- Acting independently and working under minimal direction, underwrites and analyzes new and renewal business within the Underwriting Framework and delegated underwriting authority levels, and demonstrates specialized knowledge and expertise in Surety products and industry
- Responsible for the Market Facing Underwriting performance and accountable to the PL of the Surety book
Requirement:
- Bachelors Degree Or Equivalent
- Candidate should 8 or more years of related experience in Surety business or banking to the construction sector including bonds
- Experience working with companies operating in the international marketplace and have familiarity with the issues involved in cross-border business
- Ability to understand financial reporting and to underwrite the credit and performance risks of firms operating in the region
- knowledge and practice of surety bonds and/or performance guarantees
- Ability to market the company and surety products to brokers and senior-level representatives of customers
- Credit risk analysis skills selection
- Experience negotiating conditions for complex risks
- Familiar with trends critical to new and complicated exposures
- Strong knowledge of underwriting philosophy, techniques, national/local filing regulations and guidelines
