Regional Underwriting Manager
Full Job Description
To achieve regional income and profit objectives by managing the technical performance of the branch account and by delivering an efficient case underwriting service to brokers.
Collaborate with the Executive Manager to develop the branch plan and subsequently implement the underwriting elements to achieve financial income and loss ratio objectives, agreed technical standards and customer service standards.
Enhancethe companystanding brand and presence locally by establishing and maintaining strong personal relationships with key directors and staff at the region`s most important brokers, and through contacts with the main influencers in the local insurance market.
Maintain personal knowledge of relevant technical issues and disseminate appropriate information to ensure that the regional underwriting and sales teams are always up-to-date.
Ensure that Company underwriting philosophies and procedures are understood and followed in the region.
In liaison with the Head Office Technical Management Team allocate underwriting authorities within the region and ensure acceptable standards are maintained by the implementation of a structured audit procedure, agreed by the Head Office technical management team.
Manage, motivate and develop the underwriting staff under the job holder`s control and oversee the development of the underwriters` technical skills by delivering technical training and guidance.
