This position is responsible and accountable to the General Manager through line management of Senior Nurse Manager, Nurse Manager and Nurse Unit Manager Maternity Services, to provide professional, competent and effective quality care using the prinicpals of best practice including primary care within a cost effective and efficient environment. The Midwife is responsible for prenatal, intrapartum and postnatal maternity care provision within the hospital and outreaching into the community. The Midwife may also be responsible for providing parenting classes. Function as a professional representative of the nursing service and organisation.
