Maxim Government Services is searching for qualified Intensive Care Unit (ICU) and Emergency Medicine (ER) Registered Nurses (RN) for our client, the Syracuse VA Medical Center in New York. Any state license works. Travel benefits are available if applicable, i.e. fully furnished housing, relocation assistance, and reimbursement for meals and incidentals. LOCATION: Syracuse VA Medical Center, Syracuse, NY POSITIONS AVAILABLE: 4 Registered Nurses (2 ED; 2 ICU) ESTIMATED HOURS: Approximately 40 hours per week; 12-hour shifts and one 8 hour shift to equal 80 hours every two weeks. Weekend hours and occasional overtime will be required. There will be no on call. DUTIES: Contractor is responsible for providing quality care of assigned critically ill patients, identification of emerging critical issues, blood glucose checks, IVs, medication management to include various drips, identification of arrhythmias, management of ventilators, dressings, and general medication administration. Contractor is also required to document patient information into the patientrsquo;s electronic medical record. Positions require long periods of standing, bending and lifting to position and transfer patients and moving equipment on wheels. Contractor will be required to wear scrub attire and follow VA Dress Code policy in regards to attire, hair and beards. bull;ED: Provides emergency services to veterans from time of arrival in the Emergency Department to discharge or admission to medical center. bull;ICU: Provides continued critical care services to veterans from time of arrival in the ICU until transfer out of the unit. EQUIPMENT: Any equipment typically used in the ED/ICU setting; working knowledge of computers CONTRACT TERM: 6 months from date of performance with 1 additional option to extend for an additional 6 months thereafter. WORK HOURS: Approximately 40 hours per week; 12-hour shifts and one 8 hour shift to equal 80 hours every two weeks (each shift includes frac12; hour unpaid lunch). Schedule runs Sunday through Saturday, rotating days. Each RN will remain on the same shift for the duration of the contract.
