Responsibilities/Duties:

The RN works as a team leader of the health care team on this 38-bed Transition Unit at the Foothills Medical Centre. The patients and families we will serve include those who are waiting for transfer to an alternate level of care setting in the community. Our patients will have complex, diverse and stable care needs.
The RN will coordinate the care on the unit, collaborating on the delivery of holistic, high quality and comprehensive care to meet the needs of individuals and families.
The successful candidate will be working on both transition units 71 72.

 

Qualifications:

·  Current CARNA registration is required.

·  Current BCLS-HCP is required.

·  Charge Nurse experience required.

·  Demonstrated ability to work and lead in a team environment

·  Demonstrated ability to work effectively with patients and families in stressful situations.

·  Recent bedside nursing experience and strong clinical interest in medicine and geriatrics

·  Maintains a standard of high quality care.

·  Recent charge experience and discharge planning experience an asset.

·  Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear and concise manner with all members of the healthcare team and with patients and family members.

·  Current resume required
