Non profit organization seeks a qualified professionals for a FT opportunity at our Westchester location.

Will

provide quality community based medical care to the agency’s children including physical examinations, assessments, nursing care plans, health education, immunizations, and procedures as ordered. To communicate with medical professional; families and other disciplines necessary to ensure ongoing quality delivery of Health Services. Reports and provides intervention for (if possible) incidents of abuse/neglect or potential abuse, involving children, to the appropriate personnel and/or reporting agency.

Develop an in-house training program to train, monitor, and supervise the nursing staff of the medical office and provide them with leadership and support needed to maximize their service delivery to the children. Interviews client, family and other caregivers as part of the comprehensive medical/health evaluation. Performs complete nursing assessment and care plan, records history, symptoms, and observations and any other pertinent information for use in case findings and identification of client or family problems. Administers oral and injectable medications and immunizations. Take vital signs, weight, height, and performs vision and hearing tests, draws blood, records results. Assist physician and follows order. Order and pick up vaccines; maintains inventory of biological and medication, ordering them as needed and disposing of outdated ones, under direction of pediatrician. Ability to work independently and in team format.

 

Qualifications:

  • Licensed and currently registered as a Registered Nurse in New York State.
  • Minimum of 2years pediatric nursing experience.
  • Current BCLS/CPR Certification.
  • Minimum of two years experience working with the pediatric population.
  • Expertise in providing adolescent, pediatric and preventive health care services to high risk minority population and/or out-of-home children.
  • The ability to work in a team format and the commitment to providing high quality health services.
  • Basic competency in Microsoft Office Windows application is required.
  • Proficiency in general office equipment operation is required.
  • Must possess exceptional time management skills and detail oriented skills.
  • Must possess excellent phlebotomy skills, especially with children.
  • Proficient in English
