We are an innovative, dynamic, and growing organization. We are currently in search for an experienced Registered Nurse to work in our Louisburg location.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to, the following clinical and administrative areas.
Clinical Duties and Responsibilities
· Patient triage, to include telephone triage, of specified patient groups.
· Patient education
o Identification of patient education needs
o Development of patient teaching materials and plans
o Oversite of patient education performed by other staff members
o Patient and family education, either individual or in a group setting
· Resolution and monitoring of patient problems and complaints as appropriate
o Serve as a patient advocate for HIPAA and evidence-based practice
· Provide patient care in accordance with training, licensure and Wake Health policies and procedures
o Consult with providers on complex or difficult patients
o Perform clinical tasks requiring an RN or RN oversite
o Monitor infection control and OSHA compliance with regards to clinical activities
o Administer immunization program in compliance with state and federal regulations, to include appropriate documentation
· Provide clinical oversite for Medical Assistants (MAs), students, and interns
o Monitor MA competencies
o Identify and address clinical educational needs of staff
o Provide clinical support and assistance for all site staff
· Community outreach
o Participate in relevant community events
o Partner with appropriate community resources to enhance patient care
o Participate in organizational patient recruitment projects as appropriate
Administrative Duties and Responsibilities
· Participation in QA Activities
o Monitor clinical and regulatory indicators for compliance
o Identify and/ or participate in organizational PI projects
· Promote responsible use of resources
o Participate in measures that demonstrate fiscal responsibility
o Oversee medical and pharmaceutical supply ordering, storage and use to eliminate waste and improve clinic efficiency
· Work with other clinic staff to establish and maintain a safe and efficient work environment for patients and employees
o Monitor clinical coverage and patient flow
o Identify and address barriers to optimal patient flow and quality patient care
o Work with site managers to address and resolve staff issues and promote teamwork within the site
· Participate in appropriate organizational projects, committees and site activities

SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
Monitor performance of Medical Assistants and provide support
DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS
- Associate degree or four year degree in Nursing program; North Carolina license required.
- Minimum 2 years experience in an outpatient setting or public health center required.
- Strong computer skills with knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, and Performance Management Systems.
- Excellent work history with proven track record.
- Excellent data entry skills—accuracy is very important.
- Excellent communication skills.
- Ability to pass pre-employment drug test.
- Professional, clean, neat appearance.
- No convictions of serious crimes or felonies.
- Must be willing to travel to other medical sites within Wake Health Services, Inc., to assist other facilities.
