Regulatory Advisor
Our Transmission and Regulation Team are responsible for closely monitoring all the regulatory changes being implemented in the marketplace. The team manages EDF Trading's relationship with the European Commission, national regulators and with gas power transmission companies. The team work closely with senior management trading desks across our business.
This team supports our trading functions, through monitoring our activities across Europe for gas, power and emissions. It provides market knowledge and analysis, ensures compliance with national regulators, including the Transmission System Operators and the European Commision.
Reporting to our Head of Transmission and Regulatory Affairs, an opportunity has arisen for a Regulatory Advisor.
This role is responsible for assisting our business in all our regulatory requirements of various European markets. It will assist traders and originators with expertise on market developments, as well as preparing information for regulators and the European Commission.
Key Responsibilities in this role include;
- Representing EDF Trading in user forums, the European Commission relevant regulators;
- Managing requests obligations from regulators;
- Assisting originators as when appropriate;
- Helping traders with analysis market knowledge
- Liaising with departments internally in order to compile information needed for reports such as Finance, Product Control, Trade Support, this also involves ‘sense-checking’ the information needed to compile the reports to ensure accuracy
We are looking for individuals with a good level of experience in trading regulations within Energy markets. You will understand regulatory requirements in various European markets and be able to prepare information for regulatory organisations. You will understand the importance of implementing regulatory requirements across the business, and assist our traders and originators with up to date market analysis.
With excellent communications skills, you will work across our business to support the regulatory requirements. You will be proactive and respond to the challenges faced in a fast past environment. You will take initiative and be creative in assisting to build solutions and processes. Delivering work which is accurate and of high quality will be second nature to you, and this will be supported by your extensive analytical skills.
This roles provides opportunities to develop in the regulatory field. You will be able to assist and deliver key analysis on markets, and build relationships across our business as well as with external regulatory bodies.
