Regulatory Affairs Officer recruitment

A large European Bank seeks a highly talented individual that can grow into a high-level Regulatory Affairs Officer.  The ideal candidate will act as subject matter expert regarding regulatory banking laws, maintain communications with various regulators and manage the banks examination process by ensuring that business units are prepared to receive successful examinations.

Duties:

• Develop into a subject matter expert regarding regulatory banking laws, the current regulatory environment and changes that may have an impact on the bank.

• Field and respond to regulatory inquiries and maintain on-going communication with regulators (via phone, email and in person.)  The majority of communications will be with senior level regulators, thus confidence and solid impersonal skills are mandatory.

• Act as liaison to department heads (compliance,  anti-money laundering, internal audit and operational risk), update each group with exam schedules and inform them of important details regarding the examination process.

• Manage the examination process with various regulators (OCC, FRB, FDIC, CFPB, SEC, FINRA,NFA). Organizational skills are important as several examinations can be conducted at the same time.

• Oversee the monthly, weekly and annual regional management reporting to executives oversees, the Board of Directors and regulatory agencies.  

• Manage the performance of two individuals on the team.

• Occasional travel may be required to support branch examinations.

Requirements:

• Familiar with the Credit Card Act, Mortgage Laws

• Experienced with Examination process (branch and corporate level)

• a person familiar with Alphabet Regulations

• AML/KYC (plus)

• FRB/OCC/ first day letters/FDIC exposure

• FINRA/SEC (plus)

• BA in business or related field (JD is a plus)
