Opportunity
To ensure MG fully meets the requirements imposed upon it under Insurance Company Legislation through regular monitoring of asset positions and completion of periodic Regulatory returns to ensure it continually adheres to those requirements.
Key responsibilities
Regulatory
* Assist in the production of annual and quarterly Regulatory returns
* Monitor Regulatory investment restrictions
* Daily Mifid Transaction reporting to the FCA via Unavista
* Delivery of Solvency II data on a monthly basis by working day 7.
* Investigate breaches of investment restrictions. Liaise with Front Office, management and clients to ensure that appropriate action is taken.
* Assist with the interpretation and application of existing Insurance Company Legislation and any amendments arising in the future
* Continually monitor and improve, where necessary, the processes, controls and procedures associated with above.
* Assist with the implementation of appropriate systems, processes, controls and procedures as a result of changes to existing, or introduction of new, legislation.
* Provide ongoing support to other area of Operations, Front Office and MG's clients
What we are looking for
* A high level of literacy numeracy and an extensive knowledge of MS Excel Word is required as well as some knowledge of MS Access.
* Thorough knowledge of financial markets from an operational perspective including experience of client reporting, preferably within a fund management business.
* Knowledge of financial accounting an advantage.
* Knowledge of Regulatory reporting and Insurance Company Legislation an advantage.
* Knowledge of Bonds and Derivatives an advantage.
* Desire to deliver a first rate service to all clients.
* Able to work effectively under pressure and to tight deadlines.
* Able to work within a small team and without close supervision.
* Good communication skills, both written and verbal, and able to liaise effectively with personnel at all levels.
* Logical and Analytical approach.
* High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
* Ability to interpret legislation - an advantage. Also the ability to interpret other complex documents and to develop solutions as appropriate.
