REGULATORY ANALYST
For internal MidAmerican Energy Holding Company employee consideration only . General Purpose Conducts rate and cost of service analysis through research, gathering and interpretation of data. Presents analysis and recommendations to management and may implement selected alternatives. Specifically prepares pricing and cost of service studies, and conducts rate spread and rate design analyses in the preparation of proposals to revise PacifiCorp's retail prices. Analyses include, but are not limited to, feasibility studies, cost/benefit analysis, revenue analyses, and trending. Associate level responsibilities include the following: Assist in preparation of testimony and exhibits and tariff changes filed with state regulatory commissions and provide analytical support. Assist in analysis related to cost of service analysis, design of retail electric prices, rate spread, special contract analysis, revenue normalization, rate analysis, and reporting. Gather, analyze, and interpret data for trends, forecasts, and modeling. In addition to the above, the Career level responsibilities include the following: Conduct analysis related to cost of service analysis, design of retail electric prices, rate spread, special contract analysis, revenue normalization, rate analysis, and reporting. Present analysis and provide alternatives and recommendations to department management and influence their decision regarding regulatory policies and strategies. Assist in representing the Regulation Department in supporting the Company's regulatory initiatives to regulators and/or their staffs, key community and customer groups, and other Company departments. Interpret rules and regulations to internal and external parties. Participate in commission initiatives including general rate cases rule making proceedings, and hearings. Design and develop new pricing proposals, costing methods and data collection procedures as necessary.
