Our client, a highly successful Asset Management company, has an exciting new opportunity for a Regulatory and Capital Manager to join their team in Edinburgh. The role provides the opportunity for the successful applicant to be an integral part of the Regulatory Control and Treasury functions, in addition to working closely with Finance.
In the role the Regulatory and Capital Manager will have the opportunity to become a subject matter expert on a variety of new regulatory policy and regulatory capital legislation. In addition, the individual will have the opportunity to play a key role in the production of important capital communications.
Core Responsibilities:
- Regulatory control
- Subject matter expert on regulatory policy and regulatory capital matters
- Keep abreast and up to date with developments on regulations.
- Review regulatory capital submissions across the business
- Completion of data for annual submission.
- Contribute to the firms lobbying activity with respect to risks as necessary.
- Provide other areas of the firm with the regulatory capital view on project work
- Leverage relationships with external advisors to facilitate the above.
- Capital management
- Add support to the Head of Capital Management on the areas of capital management including both economic and regulatory capital matters
- Prepare and update the Capital Plan including capital infusions and dividends
- Assist with secretariat for Capital Committee.
- Assist with the review and update of the Capital Policy.
- Assist with the completion of data for annual submission.
- Leverage relationships with external advisors to facilitate the above
- The dual reporting lines reflect the fact that the successful applicant will divide their time equally between regulatory matters and capital management.
Core Skills:
- Ability to clearly and confidently communicate in verbal and written form, with all levels of the business.
- Self-starter, quick learner, team player, with an ability to adjust to change and the desire to take on responsibility is required.
- Organised and methodical, possessing attention to detail, ability to work under pressure within very tight deadlines is a must.
Core Requirements:
- Understanding and knowledge of FSA regulatory framework and regulatory capital calculations is desirable.
- Understanding of financial reporting.
- Understanding / experience of Treasury operations and in particular capital management.
- Ideally a minimum of 3 years’ experience in Financial Services.
- Strong academic record essential
- Professional qualification of ACT/CA/ACA/ACCA/CIMA advantageous
