Risk Services, Operations Asia Pacific provides a full and dedicated support to the MIB Business. The team has responsibility for managing internal controls in Operations across Asia Pacific.
The overall function of this team includes: Drive the control agenda for Operations in Asia Pacific Provide management with a view of key developments in controls, best practices, upcoming regulatory requirements that may impact Operations Assess and manage the control environment of each Operations function by through various tools such as Control Assessment, SOX testing, KRIs, Risk Issues and Incident Management, branch/ad hoc reviews and Business Continuity Plan Provide timely reports to Operations senior management to communicate the status of the control environment in the region in a holistic manner, and to influence stakeholders to take the necessary corrective actions
About the Role
The Regulatory Risk Coordinator role is established to create a consistent framework to Consolidate and interpret global/local regulations and their impact on Operations Drive to implement new regulatory implements Communicate new and updated regulations to operations in Asia Pacific In addition, the role will also assist in carrying out certain risk services responsibilities Assess the control environment of the various GBM Operations functions in the region Initiate, implement and coordinate all controls related initiatives in Operation Asia Pacific Promote control awareness in the region
- Regulatory Risk Coordinator Develop and implement a framework for managing regulatory risk across Operations in Asia Pacific Develop and maintain a matrix of relevant regulations and circulars
- Keep up to date with new regulatory developments in the region and analyze the impact on Operations
- Provide business understanding, interpretation, coordination, facilitation and focus for all changes in regulatory requirements or emphasis, issue management and regulatory visits and enquiries affecting Operations in Asia Pacific Drive initiatives to implement new emerging regulatory requirements
- Manage reporting and escalation of Asia Operations Regulatory Risk issues/breaches to Senior Management in GBM Operations and GBM, to include presentation and status updates, responding to new Risk requirements and technical updates
- Undertake special review of key areas, where required Develop programs to meet training, awareness and communication needs for Operations Liaise and manage relationship with Group Regulatory Risk and other GBM risk functions Work closely with London regulatory risk on global regulations which is applicable to Operations in Asia Pacific Risk Services
- Coordination of business continuity plans for Operations Monitor timely closure of self raised risk issues
- Collation of periodic reporting for submission to London e.g. Off-premise trading, account certification. Undertake business branch reviews and/or ad-hoc investigations
- Conduct periodic control trainings Customer Develop relationships with the GBM Operations deliver and provide the best possible operational control environment Establish a clear workplan for the year, and maintain appropriate progress report of BAU and project responsibilities for reporting to stakeholders
- Maintain open and effective communication channels with key stakeholders and other colleagues regionally and globally
Requirements
- Strong understanding of regulation in the Asia Pacific Region Knowledge of investment banking products and processes
- Understanding of internal control processes/operational risk management
