Regulatory Economics Manager

In this role you will be at the forefront of leading the businesses strategic direction on regulatory economics, pricing and competition issues to support Sydney Water achieving efficient outcomes in the regulatory processes and in competitive water markets that are valued by customers.

You will engage, guide and consult with the business on any future developments that arise from regulatory economics or competition policy that may have implications for Sydney Water.

You will provide ongoing analysis and evaluation around the current and future factors impacting and influencing Australian and global markets further afield, across the water and wider utilities sector. You will identify future opportunities to develop long and short terms strategies recommending sound economic modelling principles that support Sydney Water’s position. You will drive change and improvements in the pricing review, licencing arrangements, and contestability space.

You will possess high levels of communication and have strong experience of working with the regulator to achieve progressive and successful outcomes.

To be considered for this role you will possess an honours or post graduate qualification in Economics or other related discipline. Have an excellent understanding of Government regulatory policies and processes. Demonstrate a high level of project management experience.  7-10yrs experience working in an Economics or Finance position, with previous experience of working for a regulator or a regulated utility.
