Regulatory Financial Accountant recruitment

Responsibilities

• Preparation and supervision of daily liquidity reporting to APRA including monitoring of internal trigger limits and liaising with FXMM on actions to maintain liquidity.
• Preparation of monthly liquidity reporting to local risk committee and regulator.
• Managing ad hoc queries on liquidity from both regulators and management.
• Preparation of monthly, quarterly APRA reporting including evidence of disclosures.
• Implement some proposed enhancements as proposed by EY. This includes analytical reviews and some further controls due to APRA increased scrutiny on regulatory reporting.
• Continuous improvement of process, static data and documentation.
• Support for the bank GCRS close including analytical packs for SOCA sign offs.
• Participate in deep dives of the business’s to challenge disclosures and business reporting.
• Implement new reporting requirements for Responsible Entity accounting and regulatory requirements.

Requirements
• Certified Practising Accountant or Chartered Accountant qualified (or equivalent overseas qualification)
• PC literate with strong spreadsheet skills
• Strong knowledge of financial accounting for large, financial, multi-entity corporations.
• Significant experience in preparation and/or audit of statutory accounts for financial institutions
• Start to finish Project experience
• Enjoys working as part of a team – approachable strong team player
• Ability to organise self to meet multiple and conflicting deadlines

Desirable
• Familiarity with Australian tax laws and basic tax effect accounting concepts including GST.
• Strong knowledge of regulatory reporting for financial institutions dealing in cash equities, fixed income products and derivatives.
• Strong communication skills – clear and competent in engaging with clients and team members, ability to influence and resolve conflict
