TIAA CREF Regulatory Reporting Analyst II - Real Estate Accounting Scope Knowledge: Preparation and filing of financial statements for external reporting with the Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC). Reports include Forms 10Q and 10K among others, on a quarterly and annual basis. Prepares internal financial reports for management and executive management. Maintains current knowledge and familiarity with published accounting principles, practices and procedures and ensures compliance with SOX requirements. Preparation of internal financial analysis, variation analysis, and financial statement footnote generation. Interaction and assistance with internal and external auditors. Job Complexity: Ensures monthly, quarterly and annual financial reporting requirements are completed accurately and timely in accordance with regulations and/or internal guidelines. Preparation of information prepared for external and internal audits. Adheres to policies in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles (GAAP) as well as the financial reporting and disclosure guidelines of regulatory agencies. Prepares, examines, and analyzes accounting records, financial statements, and other financial reports to assess accuracy, completeness, and conformance to internal, GAAP, and SEC procedural standards. Prepares financial reports prepared for management, executive management and the SEC. Prepares analytical review schedules and variance analysis. Continually evaluates and improves processes to enhance systems, reports and analysis to provide efficiencies, cost savings and provide added value to the organization. Experience, Degrees Certifications: 1-4+ years of public accounting experience or corporate accounting experience in an SEC reporting role. Experience in the real estate industry highly desirable. Knowledge of GAAP as well as SOX and SEC reporting requirements is required. Proficiency in Excel Bachelor's degree in Accounting. Certified Public Accountant certificate preferred.
