Regulatory Reporting Manager – Finance

Role responsibilities:
• Thorough understanding and review of the daily regulatory calculations prepared by off shore teams.
• Preparation and submission of periodic FSA and Bank of England returns for the UK regulated entities.
• Preparation and submission of appropriate periodic returns for (non-UK) EMEA regulated entities.
• On-going compliance with the latest GENPRU and BIPRU sourcebooks.
• Assist with the ongoing transition of preparation of returns to off-shore teams.
• Assist with the automation of the return generation function via the reporting platform in place.
• Develop a detailed understanding of the business activities and the financial position of each of the regulated entities, covering a diverse range of financial and investment activities, including:
oFixed income products
oEquity and commodity derivatives
oInsurance premium funding
oSyndicated loan facilities
oCorporate advisory and underwriting
• Support education and training of regional regulatory reporting team and Finance colleagues in regulatory reporting requirements.
• Responsible for driving process improvement and efficiencies

• Identifies and supports innovative business and Finance initiatives that provide a material contribution
• Responsible for considering operational risk and its implications when identifying and supporting commercial and entrepreneurial outcomes
• Accountable for team compliance with the financial control framework
• Identifies and encourages improvements in the implementation of the financial control framework across areas of responsibility
• Accountable for addressing control weaknesses to reduce the potential for operational incidents

Skills/experience required:
• Good, up to date FSA and BoE technical knowledge required.
• Experience working with systems processing large volumes of data, and the controls required to manage such systems, will be well regarded.
• Strong excel and systems skills
• Well organised and methodical approach
• Proven communication skills, with colleagues and senior management
• Team player, willing to help out wherever required.
• Ability to apply judgement and to escalate issues where appropriate.
• Experience of regulatory reporting within an investment banking/ trading environment or audit is preferred.  Experience in the regional office of a multinational organisation would be well regarded.
• German language skills would be an advantage
