A Tier One Investment Bank has a new opportunity in the Balance Sheet Capital Management team
The job holder will be required to assist the Senior Manager of the Regulatory team (presently 8 people), responsible for the capital reporting of both Wholesale Markets and Treasury Trading business units.

The successful applicant will play an important role in helping develop the analysis and understanding of the assets and risk factors (both credit and market) that go towards determining the regulatory capital requirements and associated reportage for the business units and at a more granular level the business teams that sit within them. This will include detailed analytical review of reported changes (to previous reporting periods) and regular formal review with management, to provide explanation and to support the understanding required by, and leading to, senior managerial attestation.
This role will help provide an important link between the IT, Risk, and Finance functions, working in a changing and challenging area of Finance for the delivery of capital (RWA) and associated balance sheet management and reportage for Integration purposes.
The support and understanding of new business and complex transactions, both in terms of regulatory requirements and internal booking processes, is also key.

Key responsibilities will include the following:
* Assisting in the review of monthly capital reports and returns and ensuring these are reconciled to the General Ledger in line with given deadlines.
* Key assistance to the Regulatory Reporting Senior Manager on any regulatory issues.
* Identification and clarification of improvements required to the reporting data, requiring a thorough understanding of Risk Weighted Asset (RWA) calculations and Basel II guidelines.
* Testing confirming the results of any system changes required, requiring good understanding of the system flows RWA calculation components.
* Assisting in the review sign off all manual adjustments made to capital reporting data, and being confident in explaining quantifying these to auditors, both internal and external.
* Closely overseeing the Pillar III reporting, and acting as cover for the entire reporting process, requiring attention to detail and a good understanding of the Pillar III requirements.
* Reviewing analysis of significant movements month on month and providing management information where applicable.
* Identifying, implementing, monitoring CI initiatives relevant to the team.
* Maintaining a close relationship with Credit Risk, Market Risk Finance personnel to ensure queries on data can be and is effectively followed up.
* Driving improvements and efficiencies in the development and implementation of processes and systems
* Assisting with any ad-hoc requirements to meet regulatory reporting compliance or other deliverables of the BSCM team

The role would suit an individual with attention to detail who is able to use their skills and knowledge to influence and enhance the regulatory reporting process. A sound knowledge of Basel II requirements and/or balance sheet management is required.
