Regulatory Risk and Control Manager- Singapore recruitment
An exciting opportunity exists for a regulatory risk and control manager to join a global organisation. Located in Singapore, you will be responsible for providing independent oversight and assurance over the controls employed business areas to mitigate key regulatory risks. This includes helping the business area keeping abreast of regulatory changes and understanding what these changes mean to them.
Main duties and responsibilities:
By creating strong partnerships with business leaders and other departments (notably Compliance and IT) the Regulatory Risk and Control Manager will support business areas in deciphering upcoming regulatory changes, and help them implement appropriate controls to meet these requirements. In addition, the Manager will provide independent oversight over the status of the control environment for the specific location they are responsible for. They will act as subject matter expert and ‘go to’ point of contact for key regulators and regulations and engage both regionally and globally to roll out wide remediation programmes with a regulatory focus.
Required experience:
- An understanding and experience of investment banking and wealth management products, including one of more of the following: FICC, Cash Equities Equities Derivatives, Prime Services, Futures, Wealth (min 6 years experience).
- Experience in delivering high quality independent control assessments, with a significant proportion of career spent within the financial services sector, with day-to-day interaction with Senior Executives.
- Language skills to match their location regulatory expertise.
- Exposure to regulators and experience in regulatory interactions.
- Understanding of risk and control discipline.
- Experience of working in a complex matrix management environment.
- Whilst the role has limited direct management of resources, the candidate will need to be proficient in directing and influencing a wide range of stakeholders.
- Highly commercial and “in tune” with the business. Balances the needs of the business group and the firm with aggressive regulatory programmes and timetables.
- Proven influencing and communication skills with the ability to influence senior individuals without a direct reporting line.
- Highly developed interpersonal skills to effectively manage relationships and navigate the organisation
- Ability to work at different levels of detail (from strategic to close attention to detail) and be able to concisely summarise complex issues.
- Excellent planning, prioritisation, problem solving and organisational skills.
