Regulatory Risk Manager
Role Purpose
- Broad remit and responsibilities for management of all aspects of regulatory risk and any change and associated implementation impacting Commercial Banking (CMB) operations globally.
- The role will be responsible for staying at the forefront of key regulatory changes to ensure proactive communication with business and develop appropriate policy and framework to manage the changes, particularly extra territorial regulatory changes. The scope will include, but not limited to, FATCA, Dodd Frank, EMIR, IFRS9, Risk Data, ICB Ring Fencing, FSA Business Review etc.
- The role requires commercial acumen balanced with regulatory experience and strong partnership with business to execute Regulatory Risk programmes that directly impact business performance. It will also require cross-business line collaboration, for the projects that impact multiple business lines, close collaboration with various Risk and Compliance functions, Change Delivery, Software Delivery, Marketing, Communications, etc as necessary depending on the type of the project to drive the implementation
Key Accountabilities
- Actively engage in identification of regulatory change and potential impacts on Global CMB Business Model
- Actively engage in the development and implementation of programmes to quantify impacts of regulatory changes on Global CMB,
- Actively engage in the development and implementation of actions to address, manage and mitigate impacts of regulatory changes on Global CMB.
- Implement policies which ensure CMB’s exposure to current and emerging regulatory risks are managed appropriately, in a commercially focused and practical manner
- Liaison with relevant stakeholders within Global CMB, other Global Business and Functional teams to provide expertise support on all Regulatory Risk related matters
- Implement process and change management to support a customer focus business operations
- Focus on aligning the CMB operating practices with changes in regulatory risk and ensure CMB Risk Framework remains appropriate
Requirements
- Degree or relevant business exposure to risk environment, regulatory risk, data management
- Significant experience in Risk together with business management, preferably from a frontline role in Commercial Banking
- Experience of dealing with regulatory matters
- Experience of interpreting and analysing a large volume of information and / or data and provide succinct summary for management
- Excellent communication and inter-personal skills, with experience of dealing with executives at all levels including the capacity to articulate the case for risk management and policy in the language of business
- Ability to develop practical, cost effective solutions to complex global issues
- Ability to lead change, contributing to joining up with the other teams in Risk and Business globally
- Project management and delivery experience
