As a Regulatory Strategy Manager in Complaints, you will be responsible for supporting the management and delivery of complaints strategy arrangements that facilitate Santander''s compliance with regulations, achieve alignment with the expectations of regulators and minimise upfront regulatory risk.
As a Regulatory Strategy Manager your skills, experience and qualifications will ideally include:
- In depth understanding and experience of working within the regulatory framework relating to complaints and/or significant experience working in a Compliance or Legal department, with a balanced and commercial outlook
- Experience of owning and driving change in a regulatory environment and an understanding of bank and regulator strategy and direction
- Proven ability to understand changes in the market and to provide solutions to keep Santander one step ahead
- Proven experience of interaction with management at a senior level, along with the ability to overcome objections
- Excellent written, analytical, interpretation and influencing skills
As a Regulatory Strategy Manager your main responsibilities will involve:
- Reviewing and evaluating the complaint handling framework at Santander and identifying areas for enhancement or change in light of new regulations and the changing regulatory landscape
- Creating proposals and solutions to ensure that all complaints processes and procedures are maintained and adapted in line with changing regulatory requirements, while meeting business needs
- Supporting Santander in dealings with relevant regulatory bodies and key external stakeholders including FSA, FOS and Professional Services firms
- Responsibility for raising compliance issues with senior management and liaison with internal monitoring functions
- Reporting on highlighted issues and gaining commitment for remedial steps
- Project management of large scale projects , overseeing strategy and handling issues as they arise
- Supporting the design and maintenance of a robust governance framework for Complaints to support regulatory objectives and minimise regulatory risk

You will be innovative and have the ability to apply your knowledge of regulation and strategy to practical business scenarios and demonstrate your thought processes. You will have the drive and influencing skills to present new ideas to other business areas and impact the way in which complaints are handled across Santander. You will be effective working in a team and have broad management experience.
